What is SEBI?

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the statutory regulatory body that oversees India's securities markets. Established in 1992 under the SEBI Act, it regulates stock exchanges, brokers, mutual funds, listed companies, and market intermediaries. SEBI's mandate is to protect investor interests and develop the capital markets.
